Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Your Google account identifier, name, email and profile photo.
• Groups, friendships, expenses, splits, settlements, notes and AI drafts you create.
• When you sign in with Google, read-only Gmail permission for inbox imports; matching Zomato, Swiggy and Instamart receipt content is read only when you open the importer.
• When you choose a Splitwise CSV, the approved expense or payment rows and member mapping needed to add them to a space.
• Notification preferences and a device installation identifier when you enable push.
• Basic technical and security logs needed to operate and protect the service.

Splitwise file imports

A Splitwise CSV you choose is parsed locally in your browser and is not uploaded or retained as a file. Before anything is saved, you choose a month and space, map the names to active members, select the rows and review the totals. Only approved normalized expense or cash-payment details are sent to Bhage Padta. We store the resulting ledger records and a one-way row fingerprint used to prevent accidental duplicate imports; unselected rows and the original file are not stored. Splitwise imports do not use Gemini.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate you, synchronize shared ledgers, calculate balances, prevent duplicate or unauthorized writes, deliver notifications you request and provide support. We do not sell personal information.

Gmail order imports

Using inbox import is optional. Its read-only Gmail permission is requested with Google sign-in so repeated imports do not show the same permissions screen. Bhage Padta searches only for supported order-receipt senders, processes matching messages and invoice PDFs on your device to show you an import preview, and never sends the Gmail access token, raw email, invoice file, delivery address, phone number or payment details. The short-lived access token is kept only in browser session storage and cleared on sign-out; no Gmail refresh token is stored. Only the provider and order number, restaurant, order date/time, item names and prices, fees, discounts, totals, safe parser warnings, and the split you approve are stored, together with parsing and split metadata needed to keep the ledger auditable. Gmail message IDs are not stored. That approved summary is visible to members of the space you choose. Google user data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to train generalized AI models.

Bhage Padta's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

AI-assisted features

When you use Ask AI, the command and a limited set of relevant group or friend labels may be sent to Google's Gemini API to prepare a draft. Gemini cannot write directly to the ledger. You see and approve every proposed financial action before it is saved.

Service providers

Bhage Padta uses Cloudflare for hosting and database services, Firebase for Google sign-in and push messaging, and Google Gemini for optional AI parsing. These providers process information under their own terms and security practices.

Sharing and visibility

Expense information is visible to the members of the relevant group, trip, flat ledger or direct relationship. We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, abuse or harm.

Retention and deletion

Records are retained while needed to provide shared accounting history and meet legitimate security obligations. You can request account access, correction or deletion by emailing dwijpatel1704@gmail.com. Some shared ledger entries may be retained or anonymized so other members' balances remain auditable.

Security and your choices

We use access controls, encrypted transport and server-side validation. No system is perfectly secure. You can disable push notifications, choose discreet lock-screen copy and revoke Google or Gmail access from your Google Account settings.

Children and changes

Bhage Padta is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the service changes and will publish the revised effective date here.
